Obituary for Louis Jordan

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
Psalm 23:4

Louis Jordan was born to Addie Mae Blair Jordan and John Lee Jordan in Avera, Georgia on Sunday, December 7, 1947. He departed this earthly life on Friday, February 22, 2019 at his residence.

As a child, Louis received his education by attending school in Jefferson County, GA. He joined the Gethsemane Baptist Church of Avera, GA at an early age. As an adult, he was united in holy matrimony to Carrie Bell Blair Jordan, from this union they were blessed with five children. Louis worked for over 30 dedicated years for the Norton Lumber Company as a Supervisor.

God’s word, the truth, has been made clear to all once again. "No one knows when that day or hour will come. Even the angels in heaven and the Son don't know. Only the Father knows.” Our beloved Louis Jordan has gone from ‘Labor to Reward.’ In our minds, he will never be forgotten, and in our hearts, he will live on forever. Those who have preceded him in death are his mother, Addie Mae Jordan, his father, John Lee Jordan, a sister, Joann Jordan, two brothers, Larry Jordan and Fletcher Winn.

Left to cherish many wonderful memories are family members and friends: wife, Carrie Bell Jordan of Wrens, GA; four daughters, Patricia (Marion) Bradshaw, Cathy (Harvest) Brown, Jennifer (Dexter) Walker and Jasmin Jordan, all of Wrens, GA; a devoted son, Jamie Jordan of Wrens, GA; nineteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Janice Jordan of Wrens, GA, Virginia Jordan of Stanford, CT and Marilyn Miller (Fred) Walker of Thomson, GA; six brothers, Garvin “Bo-Jack” (Rose Mary) Brown of Augusta, GA, Roger (Lottie) Jordan, Robert (Rosa) Jordan, Johnny Jordan, all of Wrens, GA, Willie James Jordan of Stapleton, GA and Otis Blair, Jr. of Grovetown, GA; two additional sisters-in-law, Emma Thomas of Augusta, GA and Virginia Thomas of Stapleton, GA; three aunts, Betty Roberts, Viola Burgess and Pearl McCain, all of Fort Lauderdale, FL; one uncle, Jerry Jordan of West Jersey, NJ; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
