Agnes is known amongst her family and friends as a protector, giver, and trailblazer. She was an active member at Millrock Missionary Baptist Church from her youth. Upon moving to Miami, Florida she fully participated as an active member at Mt. Aaron Missionary Baptist Church, where she held office as a Deaconess and Usher. Upon retirement, Agnes returned to her childhood home of Thomson, Georgia resuming her membership at Millrock Missionary Baptist Church. She began her education at Miami Dade College studying mortuary science. However, while working her way through school as a Drafts-woman and Estimator under the tutelage of architect Reverend Dr. McCraney, she was inspired to take on the mantle of the construction industry. In 1981, she underwent formal education at Allstate Construction College. By March 11, 1983, Agnes received her licensure in General Contracting. She became a leader in a male-dominated field as she incorporated her company ASHAR CONSTRUCTION, as honor unto God. Throughout her career she received many accolades and honors. The one most meaningful accolade/honor to her was the commendation bestowed upon her by the City of Miami Board of Commissioners, as THE FIRST BLACK FEMALE GENERAL CONTRACTOR in South Florida. While she was proud of her career, her heart was always set on assuring that the needs of her loved ones were met and lessening the suffering of others. Agnes took great pride in creating a loving and caring atmosphere for her parents, siblings, children, and those in need. Agnes lived a full and vibrant life. Her 80th Birthday was taken with great joy as her family and friends surrounded her in merriment. On Monday, September 16, 2019, the Lord released our Angel back into His care.

To our Angel, we honor you for a life well lived.
